1) God will send others to tell you about Him. God will be #1 in their lives. God’s demeanor is like one riding in on a mule: meek and lowly. God does not conquer your heart. He knocks at the door. Romans 2:4 “the goodness of God leads men to repentance”
“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety nine just persons, which need no repentance” Matt 15:7
Your head will question Him, but your heart will welcome Him.
2) God goes about cleaning your temple. Not just your flesh, but your mind, will, intellect, emotions, behavior and personality. As you read the Bible, the water of the Word washes away your old man. You begin to understand your sin problem, and why God took it so seriously that He had to take care of the problem Himself.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, you purge yourself of old habits and start to throw away idols. Your friendships are also questioned (by you) as to whether or not they lead you closer to or farther from God. (You bring your broken parts to God for Him to heal.)
Religious men and other falsely-pious people will get mad at you for making God number one in your life. You simply love God, like a baby loves his parents. He uses the small and insignificant things in our lives to deliver His power.
3) Jesus starts pruning non-productive things in your life. (Jn 15:1-2)
He curses the strongholds and they die. Fast!
Bad fruit is identified (old salt is trampled underfoot of men).
Faith is the key to pleasing your new master.
Faith is the new black. Faith replaces working to please God. No more “I made this”
All things have become new with the LORD.
4) The two sons are the two ways to live.
- Give lip service, rebel, disobey, argue, run away, think about it, repent, return.
- Check off the list of religious To-Dos, hoping the “tyrant Lord” will notice how good you are.
5) You are now a KEY HOLDER in God’s new retirement pad.
Will you cave under the pressures of living a holy life? Or will you learn to quickly repent and get back on God, relying on Him to get you through?
6) The Stone
Will God break you and your rebellious heart?
Or will you break up your hard heart by falling on Him.
