Our Authority in the Spirit

AUTHORITY
Luke 10:19 – Power to Tread – “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Matt 10:1/Mark 3:15 – Our license to kill – “Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.”
Matt 10:7-8 – CAST OUT/THROW OUT/BANISH – “And as you go, preach/proclaim, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand/has come near.’ Heal sick, raise dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
Matt 12:29 – Ransack the Devil’s House – “Or again, how can someone break into a strong man’s house and make off with his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? After that he can ransack his house.” (CEV)(CJB)(ISV)(MOUNCE)(PHILIPS)
MATT 16:15-18 – JESUS GIVES US THIS POWER BASED ON OUR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF WHO HE IS – He said to them, But who do you [yourselves] say that I am? 16 Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and [a]to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. 18 And I tell you, you are [b]Peter [Greek, Petros—a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra—a [c]huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the [d]infernal region) shall [e]not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it]. POSITION
Romans 16:20 – Satan is under my feet – “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”
Ephesians 1:22-23 – We are His Body – “And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
Genesis 3:15 – The Church’s lowest part is still above Satan’s highest part – “He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.”
THE OPERATION
1 John 3:8 – Jesus was sent to destroy the works of the Devil – “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.”
Luke 10:18 – Jesus loves the light show when we do it! – “And He said to them, “I was watching the show of Satan falling out of the sky like lightning.”
KNOW YOUR AUTHORITY
Acts 19:13-15 – UNBELIEVERS CANT DO IT – NO RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST –
“And the evil spirit answered and said to them, “I know Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?”
Acts 19:19 – After deliverance, we burn the Devils theology –
“And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.” ($6.4M)
Luke 9:40 – Lack of Faith prevents Victory in Spiritual Warfare –
“I begged Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not.””
Mark 9:29 – No Prayer and no Fasting (as a way of life, AKA you are prepared) –
“But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Mark 5: – Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18)
2 Cor 10:3-6 – Our weapons are spiritual
Eph 6:12,18 – 5 Types/ranks of demons, take up the armor, especially the Word
1 Cor 2:9-16 – Deep Spiritual Truths are revealed by the Holy Spirit
Col 1:16-19 – God created everything, but Jesus is the Head of all and the Head lives in me!
Col 2:15 – By His cross, He dismantled and disarmed all demons as a public show
Col 3:4 – We Appear with Him – “When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.”
2 Tim 1:7 – We have Power, Love and a Sound Mind
James 4:4-7 – Resist the Devil and He will flee (chicken or bored or weak)
1 Peter 5:9 – Resist the Roaring Lion
1 Cor 5:5 – Paul finally figured out how to use the devil as his tool, and not the other way around (2 Cor 12)
