1) The same Day. Jesus never rests. When God had directions for Him, He just went.
2) Jesus didn’t need the daylight. “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world”
3) God gives direction by His Word. Direction? Over the sea, into the unknown.
His word is a “lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path”
4) The direction is short-term, focused, with a victorious ending declared from the beginning “Let us go to the other side” not “Let us sink trying to get to the other side”
5) God doesn’t want to go alone. He wants us to learn from Him how to do it. Proverbs 9:1, Matt 11:29
6) Passing over means through the problem, not around it. There are no shortcuts with God. He didn’t take the safe way. He IS the safe way. Storms ahoy, I have God in my boat!
7) The journey is a test to get to the other side. Eye of a needle, road is narrow. Straight is the way. Jesus is the way, the truth, the life. There is life in the storm.
8) Let us = “make man” (do something he doesn’t want to do). The Father loves to fix broken things. He loves a challenge. He talks about removing mountains. He wants us to do the same. Teaching by example. Don’t stop at the “wow that’s a miracle”, but now let’s get back to the drudgery of life. No! Live like Him! The winds and the waves obey Him and us. We have authority.
9) The same day Jesus is revealing the Kingdom of God in Mark 4, he had another “ride” prepared for us to take. “I have meat that you know not of”. We know it now! The task is to go to the other side of many trials and temptations and win.
10) Jesus had no fear of the things of the world. “What shall be done in the dry wood” “At midnight the cry, the bridegroom comes, Go ye out to meet Him” God is crying in the night.
11) “Pass Over” – Jesus is our Passover. He is not a lamb here, but a King, mentoring us how to have victory. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. You can have what you say. Declare from the beginning the outcome. By His words are you sanctified. And you shall do greater things in His name. John 14:12
12) Let us go THROUGH it, not stopping! The turbulence is the opposition to your forward movement in the spirit. This fight is not your final destination. John 17:15 God leaves us in the world to overcome evil. Overcome evil with good.
