The Problem:

Joshua 23:12-13 – Sin sticks to you like glue.

Proverbs 5:22 – Our own deeds do us in

John 8:34 – a comitter is a slave

Romans 6:16-18 – where you play, you pay

Joshua 24:25-28 – God can raise up children of abraham from these stones (Matt 3:9)

Romans 7:15-8:11 – The cycle I am stuck in. God is talking about me.

Phil 4:6-9 – I try to think on holy things, but am I really doing that?

Gal 5:4-25 – You are in a Spiritual Battle, you have to use spiritual weapons.

Matt 26:41 – The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. When the flesh is willing, spirit is weak.

Gal 5:17-18 – Walk in the Spirit because your flesh wants to go the other way, away from God.

James 1:13-15 – You are never tempted by God, but our flesh. Lust leads to sin then to death.

Matt 12:43-45 – Unclean spirits return to a clean house, but they bring friends.

God’s Solution:

1 Jn 1:9 – Confess to God, he is faithful to forgive you, then stop the behavior

Matt 18:22 – God forgives 490X.

Ps 119:9-11 – Cleanse my thinking by reading His Word

Ps 119:105 – His Word is a lamp

Ps 119:130 – God gives you understanding if you ask

Ps 119:133 – Let not sin rule over you (Genesis 4:7 – Cain was owned)

Prov 16:2-3 – Commit your ways to Him

Prov 4: 25 – Women and your eyes (Take the elevator test)

Phil 3:13-14 – Press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling

Jude 20 – Build up your Spirit man, praying in tongues (1 Cor 14:22) believers pray in tongues!

Luke 23:39-43 – It’s never too late to repent : “While it is today” (Heb 3:13)

1 Jn 5:19 – I pray for people I have offended

2 Cor 10:3-5 – Weapons are spiritual (tongues, prayer), they cast down imaginations and  thoughts that war against your spirit

Hebrews 12:1 – Look unto Jesus for help

Hebrews 2:14-15 Jesus delivers me because of what He did

Assignment:

Read Proverbs  1 through 9 – old man

Jesus became a man to feel what I feel, therefore I can trust Him to be my helper.
